    1. [ARNEWTON] Re: Update from Listowner
    2. This has come from Rootsweb on the problems I just sent out. hmmm wonder if it comes from the "prettypark.exe" I mentioned in the prior email. Just be cautious at this time of year of what you do open - whether you know the person or not. The .mime I do not know if it is dangerous but it has gone thru several mailing lists and there has been question on it. It has always been we only had to worry abt .exe but I will be checking on the mime this weekend to see if there is a new cause to worry. Thank you Kathy >We've had a lot of reports about a virus being passed > around on RootsWeb lists. I have looked into these reports > and it does NOT appear that the viruses have actually been > sent through our lists. > > I've included a semi-technical explanation of what I have been > able to find out, for those of you who are curious. 1. [ARNEWTON] Listowner please read
    2. For some reason attachments are getting thru to many of the mailing lists. PLEASE remember do not open if they have an .exe. Even if you know the person sending it - still be cautious as many times people do not know they are carriers of a virus. This is one of the times of the year virus's go thru the internet. One I have seen on a mailing list is HAPPY.exe Another that came thru recently on one my emails was prettypark.exe. I did not open it but was in communication with a person that did open it. They said it went thru their system and sent emails to people in their address book every 30 minutes. And it searched for their banking account numbers but luckily they did not have it in their computer. Something that has gone thru the lists the last couple of days has .mim Please do NOT open if it gets thru the mailing list. I have no idea what it is or who it is coming from. But this is how it looks: <<File: ARSEVIER.mim (97519 bytes) DL Time (26400 bps): < 1 minute he, your lame client cant read HTML, haha. click attachment to see some stunningly HOT stuff>>> If you have question on a virus, do an internet search - there are many sites that can inform you of what virus' to look for and what are hoaxes. Thank you and have safe and happy holidays Kathy

    1. [ARNEWTON] Old Cemeteries
    2. Tamara and Allen Wilkerson
    3. I recieved this from another list and thought I would share it with you. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Forgive me if anyone does not like this or does not think it has to do about family research. Tammy in Florida Old Cemetery Old Cemetery, weed grown, forlorn, forgotten, Headstones bent, some fallen away, Those who sleep there, long since dust, Humble, renowned, who can say. A brook so quietly flowing, Its murmuring sound unheard The world, uncaring, passerby Like a Teeming, thundering bird. The birds' soft lilting, cadence, A rosebush sheltering the bees, A prayer is said for the neglected dead, In the blowing summer breeze, The winter snows fall gently, In that sad but hallowed place, And falling leaves come bringing, The gift of the dear Lord's grace. Then a miracle seems to happen, In that little burying ground, The stones are straight, the weeds are gone, There's sunlight all around. The markers are standing like sentinels, In the shrouding mantle of night. The voices of those who sleep there, Seem to whisper into the wind, "Thank You, friend, 'twas very kind, And won't you please come in? We thought we were forgotten As we rest here under the sod, Walk softly, friend, speak gently, Here in the presence of God."
