Been looking for some time for Armstrongs who may have been in Canada and had links to the steel business in Indiana and perhaps mining in Illinois. My Armstrong ancestors originally from County Mayo, Ireland. Some of them came to the United States via Canada. I do not know how long they stayed in Canada. I know for a time GGF James worked in the steel industry and I believe that was in Gary, Indiana and Chicago areas. Any of you Canadian Armstrongs trace your roots to County Mayo? GGF James Armstrong had siblings who are unaccounted for in my research. Perhaps some stayed in Canada and for sure some came to United States. I know James traveled to the Midwest to visit and work with his siblings. James settled later in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Looking for descendants of Anthony Armstrong of County Mayo, Ireland.
