State registrations began in 1864 in Ireland, so it should be realitviely straight forward to find her birth certificate, and from that learn more about from where in Ireland your Armstrong come. I live in Lisburn, N Ireland, and my g.g.grandmother was an Elizabeth Armstrong. Although she had a brother, he would have been in America from about the 1860's!
