Per my great uncle, James K. Armstrong (my ancestor) is the son of Gen. John Armstrong (and brother to Horatio Gates A*). If so, he would be your Margaret's great uncle. But, while I have seen some info supporting, I have also seen contrary info, and never found any primary info on his parentage. James married Martha Fairfield, and had a son, James. Is there any reference to this line in Margaret's diary?
