Have you checked out the NEGenweb sites?? I don't know what county Haigler NE is in, but you could find out at the NEGenWeb site I have had excellent sucdess in obtaining Obits, Biographies, and other documents on various ancestors who homesteaded in Eastern Nebr after the Civil war.. There were several Armstrong families in Eastern Nebraska during the time you are interested in perhaps your L.B. Armstrong ran away to a relatives home??
