    3. The path of my line seems to have been Scotland to England to Virginia to Kentucky to Ohio. I've personally been able to verify only the part starting with No. 8 Roland Armstrong b. 1777 VA. The earlier part comes from a genealogy written in the 1800's in MO that was apparently based on info. handed down in the family. I'd especially like to learn more about this line of Armstrongs in Fauquier and Culpeper Cos. VA and thereabouts. My line . . . 1. Godfrey ARMSTRONG b. 9 Sep 1601 Scotland met wife Pauline STARK , dau. of Robert STARK, near London on a visit to that country. KY (War of 1812 vet)(I have a lot on Mason's line - many went to MO, served in the Confederacy and state politics; one was a newspaper publisher who wrote a family genealogy) Half-brothers Roland, James, and Mason left VA for KY abt 1812. Roland settled on Beaver Creek in Barren Co. and Mason went to Boonesborough Madison Co. where he was a lawyer and minister. Don't have info. on James. 8. She was a dau. of Nathaniel REYNOLDS, Rev. War veteran from VA. They moved from KY to Adams Co. Ohio, along with some of the REYNOLDS family, in 1836 or 1837. Elizabeth's brother, Thomas Reynolds, was a governor of MO and he committed suicide while in office. John and Elizabeth's children 1. Fred ARMSTRONG, no. 6 above, was my grandfather. He moved from Adams Co. OH to Portsmouth Scioto Co. OH around 1900, where he lived for the rest of his life. He and Nell had 9 children, 6 of whom lived to adulthood. Fred and all 6 children died of various kinds of cancer - prostate, liver, stomach, breast, and lung. Some were smokers; some were not.
