    3. Dear Armstrong List mates, Here is my second brick wall. They are the Armstrongs on my mother's side of the family. Katharine I "Kitty" Armstrong is my mother's Grandmother. She married Allen Long of the well researched Longs of Culpeper County, VA. Her sister, Elizabeth Armstrong, married Allen's brother, Nicholas Long. I believe the two girls were from "HIDDLE," Tennessee but I can find no town by that name. These two couples moved to Kansas in the 1830's probably on the same wagon train. I believe the marriages took place in Kansas. The Longs had moved from Virginia and lived for a time in Warren County, TN. before moving to Clinton, Henry County, Kansas. Allen, a Union soldier, died of wounds at the battle of Lone Jack in Jefferson City, Missouri, and is buried at the National Cemetery on the battlefield. My brother and I have been trying to discover the parents of Kitty and Elizabeth for several years. Any help will be appreciated. Sincerely, Bob Armstrong in Houston, TX -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Robert E.
