Obit from Mountain Democrat, Placerville, CA Wed, Jan 22, 2003 Richard E Armstrong, 58, of Shingle Springs, died Jan 18. He was born Nov 5, 1944 in Yakima, Wash. A county resident for 21 yrs, Mr Armstrong owned and operated the American Traveler RV business in El Dorado. He invented the AxelClutch. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lori Armstrong; his daughters, Shanna Brown of Meadow Vista, Katie Buak of Temecula and Kimberly and Kaleen of Shingle Springs; a sister Betty French of Yakima, Wash; and three grandchildren. Services take place at 2pm on Friday, Jan 24 at the Chapel of the Pines. Remembrances may be made to a trust fund for the Armstrong children at El Dorado Savings Bank.
