    1. [ARMSTRONG-L] Cabin Fever !

    3. Down here in the Houston,Texas area,we get cabin fever during two seasons. It's supposed to get down to the mid 20's during this cold snap so we'll have to close the doors & hug the stove. Then in summer, with the heat & humidity,we have to hug the a/c. So,I was just wonderin' if one of these cabin fever seasons, preferably summer, whether my imported-from-Germany wife and I could hop into our little Ford Escort and drive north. We've got friends in east and west coast states but I wonder if it would also be possible to drop in to visit some Armstrong kin.We could discuss family, genealogy, travel,Bill Shakespeare, and even the meaning of Pico de Gallo and the recipe to make it(as well as some German recipes). Now that our 10 kids are grown & the youngest graduates from UT in May,maybe we deserve an extended vacation. We enjoy the cyber planning but I don't think it'll cure our cabin fever. It would be nice to meet some of y'all. 3. Ben, Your certainly welcome to come up to Alaska for a visit. The Alcan highway is paved most all the way now. It was pure gravel when I first drove it back in (never mind).! If your coming in the winter, I'd suggest you bring your own Snow Machine, Ski's (both down hill and cross country) and snow shoes. I'd loan you some of mine, but you'd have to arm wrestle the grandkids for em. There's always a lot of talk about Cabin Fever up here in Jan and Feb, but I could never understand why... We're kinda short on daylight here in December, as it gets down to 5 hrs or less then, but right now we've got over (just barely) 7 hours of daylight. Bring some good sunglasses cause that sun is bright (when it's out) !! At night, you could be treated to a brilliant display of Northern lights, such as we had last night about midnight.. The Orientals believe it is extremely good fortune to concieve a child while the Northern lights are flashing. but if you've already had 10 kids, then your probably not interested in that (anymore). But, if your going to wimp out and wait til summer to come when we have over 21 hours of official daylight, then just bring lots of sun screen and bug dope Sincerely, John D Ben Sessions wrote: >Down here in the Houston,Texas area,we get cabin fever >during two seasons. It's supposed to get down to the >mid 20's during this cold snap so we'll have to close >the doors & hug the stove. >Then in summer, with the heat & humidity,we have to hug >the a/c.
