Go ahead and get started... we had a little wind up here in the Matanuska Valley the last couple days.. the control tower at Anchorage international airport recorded winds at 109MPH after which the FAA folks abandoned the control tower for 9 hours....!! Semi's got blown over, roofs got ripped off, trees got blown over.... but thankfully no one got killed.. A couple fire fighters did get seriously injured, but are recuperating in the hospital now.. My son and I have to replace a couple shingles on the roof of the house in Anchorage he hopefully has sold, and by the time we get that chore done, hopefully Cousin Fount will have the BBQ fired up and a rack of ribs and a few other assorted goodies about ready for sampling.. Did that case of King Crab show up yet... I had it shipped fresh off the boat in Kodiak to Founts place..! Sincerely, John D snowless in Alaska
OK!!!! I am ready to party!!!! The King Crabs just arrived from Alaska! I have some racks of ribs smoking with my special rub on them and have some hot crawfish just out of the vat and covered with hot sprinkles!!! I also have my CC and Diet Dew that I'm sipping on. For the ladies, I have my special 180 proof from NC. It is made from the following recipe: One quart of uncut moonshine. Put three large purple plums, one package of Surejell and one cup of sugar in the quart of booze. let set for 6 months. A bit sooner if you can't wait. Serve it in one ounce glasses and PLEASE ladies, just sip on it. Soon you will feel a flush on your face as if you turned on a sun lamp. Don't worry, this is natural and just shows the mixture is high octane! Also, we have a perminate band stand set up at one end of the living room. Musicans are already showing up and the music is starting. Guess what! It's everyone's favorite music! My word! Is that some Armstrong lass upon a table dancing??? I'll not tell!!!! Well, John D., I was wondering where you were! Now we know you were just "blowing in the wind." Glad you didn't blow away and glad you didn't have too much damage. That was some windy day! It's good that nobody got killed! Sounds like worse than a hurricane. It is still winter here, still snowing off and on. I swear we got your weather this year. Official spring is only a few days away (8 pm. on March 20) and here we looking like January! Some years we might have some crocus flowers blooming by now but we still have at least 2' of snow out on the lawn. Whine! Whine! I am sick of it. Glad you are partying with us. You know I have been longing to try your rhubarb and your raspberry wines, so won't you please bring a bottle or two to the party so I can sample them? I understand you can dance the sailors' hornpipe on the table top. Looking forward to that. Cousin Marilyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "John D. Looks like you won't get to my place then John D with all of that work to do. I will look forward to some of those king size crabs you have coming at your place though. Never been to Alaska as yet. Still time I hope. Edie ----- Original Message ----- From: "John D.
