    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Armstrong, George, Dolph, Lynch Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kQB.2ACIB/2592 Message Board Post: Making an connection with a "new" cousin, he passed on this information that has come down to him in his family.... Ok,so you have to take oral traditions with a grain of salt, but I thought that I would post it, with his permission, to see if anyone else has a simular story in their lines.... ************************************* This is a copy of a letter written by Maude Lynch Van Huss (only surviving daughter of Laura Armstrong Lynch) to Clarance Lynch in 1963. Clarence Lynch was the oldest child of Laura & W. P. Lynch and my grandfather. ""The following information is being sent to the Armstrong descendants -- "The Armstrongs were of nobility in the part of Ireland nearest Scotland, came to this country in the early days, landed at Virginia went to New York, and my branch went to Pennsylvania, -and there are Armstrongs at Lancaster, we are related to, -- and to eastern Ohio, to western Ohio, and my branch went on to Michigan. When they left-- it was decided to take up the dead, and in doing so, in each instance, - three, -new caskets had to be made, and it was learned that they had been buried alive. It is believed it was from catalepy, which is not well understood, and may be inherited down through the generations, - lasts from two to more days, - the victim can hear but cannot speak cannot move a muscle, not even an eyelid" >From William Penn Armstrong, your own grandfather, taken down in writing from his own words."' This information was contributed to me by John Lindberg of Kansas, his great-grandmother was Laura Ann Armstrong Lynch. **************************** William Penn Armstrong is brother to my Elizabeth Armstrong Dolph: http://www.nd.edu/%7Edpaul/armstron.htm Please let me know if you see any connections!
