    3. You are correct Bill. I live in beautiful Australia and on the east cost 3 hours north of Sydney at a place called Salamander BAy. My maiden name was Armstrong and I have the history on our family going WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy back. Dad always told us how our name came about from the King. I can get our previous name if you are interrested. Our first Armstrong came to Australia in the 1820's as a convict from Dublin. William Armstrong. He married Eleanor Hall and had a few children to her and they both died c. 1850. If anyone is interrested I can give a lot more info to you. He left behind in Dublin a wife and 3 children. I have no info on them. Can anyone help me with them??? My Husband and I are planning to go to Ireland in July 2007 and would love to make contact with relatives in Ireland. Do any American Armstrongs have Aussie relatives?? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Bill Sent: Wednesday, 11 October 2006 1:43 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ARMSTRONG] OT Marilyn, The first Armstrong (Siward) last name was Beron from Upland, Denmark; then the King of England gave him the name of Armstrong, as the story goes.
