    3. Dear JDA, Having been brought up in KY by a man whose dad was a Federal Revenuer, I can say that Bourbon is made from corn and the finished product is not blended with any other thing. It is aged in new ash (I think) barrels for at least 4 years. It is best taken alone. If you are going to mix it with something other than branch water, I would suggest rum or rye. It was my family custom to put rum in egg nog. Why waste Bourbon? We did put Bourbon in sweet potatoes. Delish! And our children's cough syrup was Bourbon and sugar mixed with some water. It worked, too. I think brandy is made from distilled (cheap) wine. At least it tastes like it. 20% alcohol at best. But now I am into opinion and you probably want facts.
