Might be a noreastah on Sunday...of course that evening we are having a big party of our pot-luck gourmet group that has been getting together for 30+ years. One time we had it here and the power went out. Everybody brought gallon jugs of toilet flushing water. It hadn't become cold yet, so everybody had a drink or two and was cozy. After they went home, though, the power was off for about 4 days and the Canadians had to come down and help out fixing the downed wires. I didn't wash all those dishes until the power was back on but for those 4 days it was mighty cold...even the dogs and cat were in bed with us. The fireplaces are no good...lousy for heating...and I think the power came back on about the time we were really worrying about everything freezing. Other than that, the plows get out early here (gotta keep those highways open for skiers) and we usually don't have too much trouble with the roads. Daughter lives about 8 miles from here so if ours goes out and hers doesn't we can go over there...and vice versa. But I am wondering about the party. John, are you speaking in tongues? Sounds like Japanese and Hawaiian. Have not written card one for Christmas and am trying to get the mailed packages ready to go. I don't know why I am so slow...and I still have to decorate with Bernie and clean the house really well in case anybody gives any of the furniture the white glove test. An Airedale might be lovely. They are very cute and smart and curly...not much shedding? A little dog? Really cute, but I can't quite picture it fending off a mother moose. But at this point in my life I guess I'll only get dogs I can carry easily...no more lovely Lab to try to pick up and move when necessary. Yup, those little guys are pricey...any rescue around for that breed? A sled dog reject? Another Alsatian or a mix of that and Lab? Anyway, hope you get a nice dog soon. Everybody needs at least one.
