I may be able to offer a little help here, since I grew up in Washington Co and am a descendant of Robert Armstrong. He and his wife, probably Jane McElvaine (not Young), were married in Bedford Co. Virginia (not PA). The error in data happened several years ago when I shared some research done about 1940 by a family friend that had Robert's wife listed as Jane Young but with no verification. The data I shared was cobbled a bit and mistakenly attached to the PA Armstrong's. There is now evidence that this data is incorrect. I have more to share, but since this is probably not your line, you may have no interest. But back to your question. According to Robert's family bible, he had a daughter named Prudence born 7 May, 1803. Since the bible also lists her death in 1825, she could not have married in 1831. Benoni also had a daughter named Prudence born at about the same time. I have run across her several times in my research and seem to remember seeing her marriage to a McCoy listed in the Indiana state marriage records that are available online at the Indiana State Library site. I have also come across Benoni's name several times but have limited information about him. He and his family were prominent residents of Salem, Indiana, Washington Co. during the early and middle 1800s. Hope this helps and let me know if there is more I can do.
