Dear Tom the B. Yes, the campaign is furious at this point. The telephone rings all day with people taking surveys or with commercials about the various candidates. I must say it's interesting, at least at first, but by this time everybody is tired of it. Most of the campaign signs are buried in all the snow we had, but people are still out, buttonholing you on the way to the grocery store. The volunteers are really dedicated and each more fervent than last. It's nice to see a lot of younger people involved...I remember a few campaigns ago there wasn't much interest among those in their early twenties...that's much different now. One good thing here in NH is that during the campaigning you are able to see all of the candidates "up close and personal" if you want to, can shake hands, get autographs, go to rallies, etc. Usually we have had some other appointment when there are house parties or rallies...even though we might have liked to see and hear some of the candidates, usually the event conflicted with something else we had to do. I guess we'll watch the debates tonight from the warmth of our house and won't have to go out into the snow. The results should be interesting and I think a huge number of people will be voting. I still haven't made up my mind, but I will by the time I get in the voting both and have the pencil in my hand!
