It has been a while since I was on this list, but I thought I would check anyway. I wonder if you do a "Roll Call" I descend from the Armstrong's as follows, Charles Ansley Armstrong, and Sybil Chute Wallace W. Armstrong, and Julia E. Lobdell Lillie Mae Armstrong, and Garnett "Gan" Howe Cochran Pearl Helen Cochran, and Jesse Wallace LeDue Harold Roy LeDue and Helen Margaret Griffin (My Parents both now deseased) I wonder if anyone else is working on this line, I know that there are Cousins out there that are working on Lillie Mae Armstrong, as she married twice. Her second marriage to Frank Jackson Smith. Nan Curtis Bishop, CA **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)
"I wonder if you do a "Roll Call"" It's been done before Nan, but not for some time I believe. A good start to the year, thanks for the suggestion!! :D My adopted Dad, Norman Bynon, was my link to the Armstrong name. His gGrandmother, Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, migrated to Victoria, Australia back in the 1850's, no doubt for the goldrush since her father was a miner. Elizabeth was born in Benfieldside, Durham Northern, on May 14, 1848 and was actually one of twins. Her father, John ARMSTRONG, is my biggest mystery. He was born about 1822 in Hexhamshire, Northumberland and he married Dorathy WAUGH, born about 1822 as well, in Northumberland. I've been unable to find their wedding which apparently happened at Gretna Green, but the registration is eluding me, sigh! :( I'm also having trouble finding his immigration records. John's parents were Thomas ARMSTRONG and Esthern STOBART. Thomas's parents were John ARMSTRONG and Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, who were married November 14, 1780 in Whitley by Hexham, Northumberland. I'm not sure if Elizabeth was born an Armstrong or whether she married another Armstrong before she married John. If anyone can make a connection to my Armstrongs, I'd LOVE to hear about it! :D Take care, Robyn. IBSSG Stockbridge, Georgia, USA Honey's Home of Genealogy www.robsfamily.com
