My uncle John, your Grandad, is still in touch with me and my Mum, occasionally. I'm still in touch with my cousin in Longridge, and she passes on info to me. According to Uncle Louis, he thinks your great grandad, my grandad, was born in Ireland, but no-one knows for sure. His story is that Grandad was born in Ireland, came to the UK with a mate, lied about his age to join the Army, and eventually met Esther, married, had John, and the rest you know. So we may have to start looking in Irish records. Uncle Louis also said that Grandad burnt all his papers when he came back from the Army. Anyway, that's about all I can tell you for now.
