Clemi Higley Blackburn (Died February 8, 2008) Clemi(Higley) Blackburn, age 63, of Childress, Texas, died Friday, February 8, 2008. Carol Clem Sutton Higley was born February 9, 1944 in Childress to Morris and Carol Amacker Higley. She and William "Bill" Blackburn married April 17, 1963. Clemi was co-publisher and a columnist with the Childress Index Newspaper. She was a woman of great wit who loved reading, hiking, and the great outdoors. Clemi is preceded in death by her parents Morris and Carol Higley. She is also survived by her husband Bill Blackburn; One Daughter, Daughter-Shawn Stone and husband Cal of Moore, Okla.; One Son, Son-Christopher Blackburn and wife Sharon of Childress, Texas; One Brother, Brother-Tom Higley and wife Brenda of Amarillo, Texas; Two Grandsons, Jackson Blackburn and Sutton Hawk Blackburn; One Granddaughter, Samantha Stone; Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home, 307 Ave.C NW, Childress, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2008. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2008 , Rev. Jim Haney Rev. Chad King officiating. Interment will be at Childress Cemetery in Childress, Texas.
