You have peeked my interest! The "original" Armstrong family in "Ireland" that both Foxie and I are related to...was said to have had perhaps 18 children. As of today I have found possibly 10. Now this doesn't mean that yours is definitely related because from searching N Ireland..I can tell you Armstrong is as common as "Smith" is here. BUT..one name that isn't in my list of the original children is "James", and your statement that he was born 1823 tells me he "could've" been a child of one of these original Armstrongs, maybe a "James".. Plus the statement that they came from Ireland. Do you have any idea where (in 1823) this James was born? His parents? His wife's name? There are listed quite a few James Armstrong b 1823, who at one time lived in the Kansas area. If I could find any possible immigration records it would possibly tell me more info. Were there "middle" names? Another clue in this Armstrong line, for they were "big" on this. Foxie and myself think that there were others of these "original" Armstrong family that immigrated from..Oh..it is Northern Ireland that ours came from. Also...in checking immigration lists....if it says departure from "Liverpool" which you know is England...that doesn't mean they were born there. That is a very common route that those in N Ireland used to immigrate elsewhere. I'll be watching the posts. Soopy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
