Foxie - I posted to your my space list so check there. How is James Armstrong related to your Armstrongs? I found James on the 1860 Kansas census and several of his children in various other ones but nothing else. My grandmother (only a married Armstrong) said that the family was Irish but wasn't clear on how or why or when? James is probably born about 1823.
