William and Nancy are still living in Hancock Co., WV. (formed from Brooke Co. 1848) in 1850: Dist.613-Hancock Co., Virginia (after 1863 WV.): Wm. Armstrong 60 farmer Virginia Nancy " 70 Ireland Elizabeth Mitsker (?) 45 Pa. William was in Ohio by 1860, no sign of Nancy; she must have died 1850-1860. Their children's correct order appears to be (all born Brooke Co., Vir.): Hugh b. 1813 George 1815 Sarah 1819 (mar. James McCowen (?) John 1821 Josiah 1821 (twuins ?) James 1824 Some websites list another George b. 1801; this is not Wm's son. The 1880 censuses for 4 sons list mother's birthplace as: Hugh-Ireland John-Md. Josiah-Pa. James-Md. What is the source for Hughill/Hukill as Nancy's maiden name? If Nancy's birthplace of Ireland is correct, she is not connected to any of the Hukill families that migrated to the Western Pa/ Panhandle of WV./ E. Ohio area c. 1790-1810. These are all related , and orignated in Cecil Co., Md., desc. from Daniel Hukill Jr. (1674-c.1731) and wife Elizabeth Guilder; Daniel Jr. s/o Daniel the immigrant to Dorchester Co., Md. 1666.
