Bob, the Armstrong's in this family have an ancestor that spent the last years of his life living in a cave... why, I don't have a clue but he seems to have been a revered person. Maybe stubborn--didn't like crowds.??? Another Armstrong ancestor tore the car door off taking it out of the barn--because he refused to wait until it was closed. It was my understanding he stopped the car, picked up the door, threw it into the trunk, didn't say a single word and continued on the way to town.-- no one else said a word! Aren't families fun! She was born in the late 1700's. Her parents were Matthew and Rachel Watkins of Buckingham County. Land deeds show her as "Cox" in 1803 then as "Armstrong" in 1806. She and her husband could have relocated anywhere. Any and all clues or info would be appreciated. Thank you. Shirley Cox Schroeder. If you go to an LDS Family History Center (Mormon Church library often referred to as an FHC), you can use their computers to access Ancestry.com for FREE. I have and I suppose they still have it available. FHC's are very helpful. You don't have to be a member of their religion.
