The only reason I know he does it is the fact that we lie within the same lineage. I did just receive more updated information on our lineage from Col. Jimmy Armstrong that I have not had the pleasure of reading over as it's 28 pages long. I will be looking over it this weekend while visiting my brother. I know there was some information in there I hadn't seen yet on John Armstrong and Eleanor Gilchrist. I will see what he has turned up and let you know when I get back on Sunday. I had taken a break from research the past few months just from burnout, but have to get the brain in gear to start up again. Let me see what I can find out and if the new stuff Jim has sent over doesn't turn up anything new I will contact William and see what he has. Have a good weekend!! Dan

Unfortunately, Mom died before we wrote down all her family lore, and I am slowly piecing things together. You say you have info on the family. He had 2 brothers who came to America, but went to North Carolina (I think--I have been trying to locate a copy of the Bristol Youngs in Virginia. Somehow, my grandfather Young and my mother's Young relatives established that we were related, and I would like to trace this. By the way, thanks for spelling out the family tree. The US Genweb is engaged in an outstanding online census project, including the transcription of County Census records. These offer the additional advantage of listing members of a given household, regardless of surname. You will find that these are also indexed by Surname. Select the state of interest at the US Genweb Census project at: http://www.us-census.org/states/ Even if you don't find the name for which you are looking, you will find it worthwhile to have a look, and perhaps volunteer for transcriptions. Hello again For those of you who really want to obtain copies of Military Records, either Pension or Service records as they are both valuable sources of information, actual copies of the census sheets, DAR, SAR, passenger ship records and other information, here is a site that is well worth checking out. I have used this person many times to get copies of the records, but there is a charge. He will look for the information and tell you if he finds it, then he will make the copies and send them to you after receiving payment. I know it costs, but there is no charge if he does not find the records. I do not personally know this person and have never met him except through e-mails but have never been disappointed in the service. I have also been able to get copies of the complete files for Revolutionary War and Civil War files, PLUS copies of DAR applications and files of my ancestors. His E-mail address is: DC Rsearch@aol.com The site is: DC Research National Archives Genealogy and Civil War Research Service Happy searching. Jan
It appears the Fremont Library now requires one to have a library card in order to access the site. This is such a disappointment as it was a great research tool to be able to access the census and I always thought libraries provided free access to the public. Fremont is not one of those. Maybe it would only take applying for a library card to be able to use their database. netLibrary - Create An Account However, I have found another site for a library that appears to be even better as it has several links to other sites as well. The Newberry Library . Please do not hold me responsible if it does not work. I only try to pass along what I find. Good luck. Jan
