Would be grateful for any info on Jane Jones, the 2nd wife of Warneford Armstrong 27 SEP 1699 Ballycumber, Offaly, Ireland. Landed Gentry of Great Britain and Ireland gives her father as Lewis Jones, Esq. of Dublin. I would like to know if this Lewis Jones is related to Bishop Lewis Jones 1550-1646 (bishop of Killaloe & Meath). Thanks. Bob Foran - Connecticut USA
I wish I'd written this author unknown Black and White (Under age 40? You won't understand.) You could hardly see for all the snow, Spread the rabbit ears as far as they go. Pull a chair up to the TV set, "Good Night, David. Good Night, Chet." Depending on the channel you tuned, You got Rob and Laura - or Ward and June. It felt so good. It felt so right. Life looked better in black and white. I Love Lucy, The Real McCoys, Dennis the Menace, the Cleaver boys, Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Superman, Jimmy and Lois Lane. Father Knows Best, Patty Duke, Rin Tin Tin and Lassie too, Donna Reed on Thursday night! - Life looked better in black and white. I wanna go back to black and white. Everything always turned out right. Simple people, simple lives... Good guys always won the fights. Now nothing is the way it seems, In living color on the TV screen. Too many murders, too many fights, I wanna go back to black and white. In God they trusted, alone in bed, they slept, A promise made was a promise kept. They never cussed or broke their vows. They'd never make the network now. But if I could, I'd rather be In a TV town in '53. It felt so good. It felt so right. Life looked better in black and white. I'd trade all the channels on the satellite, If I could just turn back the clock tonight To when everybody knew wrong from right. Life was better in black and white! Pass this to someone (over age 40, of course), and brighten their day by helping them to remember that life's most simple pleasures ! are very often the best!

Hi Doreen, If we had known, we would have joined you there as well and helped little Edward enjoy his party. Hope he had a lovely day. Poor little man. Debbie, that is exactly the type of help anyone can also give. We all come across indexes like that from time to time and anything with Armstrong on it could possibly help someone. Just a date with the right name can set someone off into a new direction of research. I think there is enough anger and war about, lets see what can be done to help instead. I guess Patti, that it is rather strange if you happen to have just come onto a a surname list and all everyone is talking about is a party they are having. As we all know though, the lists get a bit quite from time to time and this party certainly brings some folk who have been lurking for some time into the open. I think it is a pity that the folk who want to unsubscribe, don't give us their ancestry whilst they are at it. It isn't just about sitting in the background waiting for your family notes to come up, it is also about sharing want you have and seeing how you can help. it has been my experience that friendships are made up of shared experiences and it would appear that cyber parties fit well with cyber friends --- shared experiences as well as shared information. And yes my e-mail list was a long one to go through the following day. Thanks. I try to stay out of that other stuff. After all, opinions are like belly-buttons--everybody has one, they're all different, and no one pays them much mind except for the owner.
