He was killed in the war and is burried in a mass grave in Marrietta, Ga. He was married to Susan Emmaline Holland, Susan born May 10, 1836, died 1914. I have two different dates of their marriage, one is from family records, and one found in the record books. It is Jan. 5, or 8, 1854 or 1855. They had twellve children, the last four were born after the death of Mathias, but took the Langley name. Mathais father was Josiah, mother was Magaret. Josiah's father was Carter Langley. I do not know the name of Carters wife. I am a langley also. My Great grandfather was the fifth child of Mathias.childrens names are 1. Amanda J. 2. Margie A. 3. Magaret A. 4. Martha E. 5. Hezakiah (Bud] 6. Malanay A. 7. Maranda L. 8. Cora 9. Adam 10. Samuel K. 11. John L. 12. Margie. I know I listed two Margies but have two different birthdays for them.
