    3. Cathy, I mailed a package to you today. It will probably take a couple of days. I mailed it in Black Oak Arkansas. If you read any John Grissom books, that is his home town. Anyway when he was very young. The Painted House is a story that is set in Black Oak. I go through there every day on my way to MISSISSIPPI County. I am a little familiar with some of the names, ( have taught there for 15 years) and I have not run across any Vanvickles. Sounds like an old prestigious name. I might be able to check into it. You are the first to tell me that some of the Wisemans crossed the river and came to Mississippi County. My grandparents went to Poinsett County. However Millington, where some of my Sawyer relatives live, is just across the river. Again, let me warn you about my Mother's organizational skills. It is hard to tell who is descended from whom. She has lots of birth, death, marriages. I hope that it is meaningful to you and that you find something that fills in a few gaps, or just gives you a new thought to think and a new trail to go down. If I can help you figure it out, let me know. Sure do hope that we make a connection. Well, if not blood related, we are two Wisemans searching for ancestors. You might have something that would help me in figuring out some of the mystery that my Mother planted. I sound ungrateful, I am thankful for the information that she found and I will just have to figure how it all fits together. Glenda

    3. Hi there... My Benjamin or Ben, Vanvickle was in the 1910 Tipton Co. Census, apparently his wife died. I am in contact with a cousin, that I have some room to doubt what she says, so this is why am so hesitant to what she tells me. She says that Mary E. Benjamin's wife died in 1905 while standing at the stove and is buried in Munsford cemetery. Well Munsford cemetery is on line and if she was buried there, No.. headstone or they missed her or ??? So the Mary E. in the 1910 census is at least a 3 wife for Benjamin according to cousin... I said it can't be it says they were married for 23 years. The 1900 Haywood census for them says they been married 12 years so go figure. So I think Mary E. died after 1910. On the 1920 census he is in Mississippi Co. and all he has with him now is two of his children. Am also told he married again and had at least another son and daughter. According to who I am told was his son, Vernon Vanvickle, Social Security says he was born Aug. 10, 1920. The census was taken January 10, 1920, so that is sure cutting it short not to be a shot gun wedding...heheheh.. I am thinking they probably married in Mississippi Co. Even tho I am told alot of people married in Pemiscot Co. Mo.... Yal cousin again...heheheh...So far I have not gotten a look up in Mississippi co. I need several things from there. The cousin told me she would surely do it, but for some reason she can not quite understand what I am saying I need or something... I am not sure. She just does not get things even tho she keeps saying she will. So I don't think I will ever get them if I wait on her. She seems well intended to do it.. but I suppose she might get side tracked or something. You said you go to Mississippi Co. ever day, would it be possible from time to time that you could get me what I am in need of? At the moment, I am trying to sort of finish part of a project I should be working on dealing with my Fannin-Fanning in Lincoln, Franklin and Moore Co. Tn. then also drop down below Lincoln and Franklin there is Madison Co. Al and Jackson Co. Al. This was a hot spot for my fanning's and off springs, cousins, uncles.. etc.. I have probably 1000 of them there and I see I have some mistakes or mess ups or ?? I am in the middle of getting the 1900 census for each of the families I can find. I have finished with Tn. and am working on Al. So just as soon as I finish this, I want to go back to the Wiseman's. For some reason this family really interests me and since I do have a "cousin" that shows some interest, may be we can exchange notes and help each other out. So it would be a wonderful time for me to go back to working on my Wiseman bunch. Who knows, I might find out better info being able to work with a cousin on this bunch and since you are so close you might know more that I do not know and that might help also. Well it will help regardless if it helps me find my direct line. I am just so interested in all of these Wiseman's each one could be my direct line the way I feel about them... Yes there were some crossed over and I think possibly more them I have been able to find so far. Casper and Wife Sarah Warr was in the 1920 Mississippi Co. Osceola Twp census on which his two youngest children Austin 15, Jordon 12 was born in Ark. So that tells me they crossed over before 1910. The were in Tipton Co. in 1900. I think there were others also, but I do not have the info at hand. I have an index for the 1900 census and can look them up, but for the 1910 and 1920 there is not an index. I am on Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com. Genealogy.com is where I am subscribed to the 1900 census with index. So that is wonderful and I can search and find who ever is there. But Ancestry.com has the 1910 and 1920 and they do not have an index. Their site is slow as bean when it comes to these census, you have to search each page and it was by accident I found Casper, I was looking for my Benjamin... page by page by page... I decided to look at area's close to Tipton Co.. And found them both. Any way, I can get census info for any one you need right now on the 1900-1920 census, but need index for the 1910 and 1920. Oh by the way, none of the census is worth printing off. I can probably e-mail you the 1900 one and you possibly can bring them up so you can see them. But for got it about the other two. Ancestry.com does them in color and they are just awful. No one I have sent them to so far including me can magnify them to where they can read them in size and yet be able to read them other wise, they just get worse and worse as you try to work with them and view them. But regardless, I an still send them in case you do have a way to do it, if you need any. Lots of times I run in to problems, I just can't read something and it would sure help to be able to e-mail them to some one so they can look at it also. Two heads are better then one.... Oh yes, I thought so, Casper son of Octavius and Mary Lumpkin, also crossed over and was in the 1920 Mississippi Co. Census. There were so many missing in the 1910 Tipton co. census I would sure like to know if they were in Mississippi Co. or Pemiscot Co. Also I think possibly I found my Ransom in the 1900 Permiscot County, Missouri Census. He was enumerated with John and Levina H. Wilks as a laborer. His age is 42, and says born. TN NC Va. The age is a bit off. According to be son of Calvin and Mahalah, he was 8 on the 1860 Tipton Co. census. So he should have been 48 b. around 1852. But the birth states are correct. He was born Tn. his dad NC and mom in Va. Only other thing it say she is single. But hay, you run off leaving 4 small children what might you say??? If this story is true. But also like I have said, So far I only think I have found one Ransom, so I really think this is probably him. I have been trying to find him in the 1910 and 1920 census, but without an index its nearly impossible. Course do not know if he would be still there in Pemiscot Co. or moved on else where. But would sure like to keep tracing him... He might admit one day who he is, if he is actually my great grandpa... Ok.. I have rattled on enough here... got typers cramps.. heheheh... Cathy
