She was born in Mississippi County, AR. She was a homemaker. She loved to sew and garden and loved her family and friends dearly. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Sala Sr., her son, Stephen B. Sala, her parents, Joseph A. and Mary Ethel Jane Griffin, her two sisters, Alberta and Inez Griffin, and her brother, J. B. Griffin. Survived by her sons, Joseph W. Sala Jr., (Laura) of Yorba Linda, CA, Rocky J. Sala (Bobbie) of Palmdale, CA, Geoffrey K. Sala (Jennifer) of Twin Peaks, and Kerry G. Sala (Theresa) of Horse Shoe, NC; daughter Sheree A. Whiting (David of San Bernardino; sisters Dathel Lee of Jonesboro, AR, Betty Smith of Quitman, AR, Belva Murray and Sammie Sue Bullock, both of Truman, AR; brothers, Benny Griffin, Jimmy Griffin and Danny Griffin, all of Jonesboro, AR; 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Tues, Dec. 7, 2004, 4-8 p.m. , Mt. View Mortuary. Funeral: Wed., Dec. 8, 2004, Mt. View Mortuary. Interment immediately following services at Mt. View Cemetery.
