Surnames: Williams, Bunch, Kieser Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oV.2ADE/297.2 Message Board Post: I have some very old books with the name William Riley Williams in them. My great great grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Williams Hannah Kieser. She was born in Memphis in 1841. Her father was E P Williams. Some how they ended up in south Mississippi County, Ark, during the 1860's. I always thought Will Riley was her brother. I do not have my records with me at the moment but am responding with what I remember. I have been to Osceola, read about the Williams family there and believe they are the same family. It is interesting that you say that W R W's father was a blacksmith. My GT GT Grandmothers father (EP Williams) was listed as a blacksmith in the 1850 Memphis census. It, also says that they came from Virginia. I still believe it is the same family. That could have been their origin before coming into Tennessee. I have my Great Grandmother's diary, and she mentions an Uncle Will. She also talks of a grandfather being called Squire Williams and being of Hopefie! ld Plantation. There is an old picture of a very old house that she made the comment that her grandfather practiced law there. After visiting Osceola, I now believe that Squire Williams and the grandfather who practiced law may have been her great grandfather, perhaps the one who came from Nashville. Just speculation. I am interested in her Grandmother Williams. She was a Bunch. An elderly Bunch is one of the first graves in Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis. Her grandmother had a sister who lived in Miss. Co.
