He was of the Methodist faith. He received his BSE from Henderson State University and a master's degree from the University of Arkansas. He was a retired school administrator and former football coach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Haygood and Mollie Harkins; one brother, Robert Harkins. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Roberta Haygood of Morrilton; two sons, Harold Thomas Haygood Jr. and his wife, Alison, of Killeen, Texas, and William Robert Haygood and his wife, Marilyn, of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Holly Balducci of Conway; nine grandchildren, Jake, Zack and Luke Haygood, Megan, Katie, B.J. and Cameron Haygood, Morgan and Spencer Balducci. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Forrest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim McKay officiating.
