The Miss. Co. Library in Osceola has a section of books pertaining to the "old" days of the county. In Feb. I was there and I recall looking through one that had pictures of old homes, etc. in that area. I, too, have been researching that area, particularly Pecan Point. There's also a historical society in town, only open on Tues. afternoon I believe. Anyway, I can't recall the name of the book offhand, but I know there's a list of books you can get off the Mississippi County web site. My ancestors assigned their land over to Jacob McGavock and John Boss in 1836. I have a copy of the BLM records. Let me know if I can help.
