I suspect that Henry had a brother named Solomon, who was listed in his 1876 marriage bond. Henry and Harriet had the following children: Della (b. 1878), Rena (b.1879), Arthur (1881-1960) Gable (b. 1886), Sylvester (b. 1860), Luther (b. 1893), Susie (b. 1894) and Haywood (b. 1897). Currently, we are not in contact with the descendents of Luther McKinney. All that I know about him is that he married Luanna (b. 1899) and they had a daughter named Martha (b. 1916) per the 1920 Census report. Family oral history indicates that some McKinneys may have relocated to Blytheville AR, and Hayti MO. If you have any information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks Claudia

Since all the siblings match perfectly and strangely enough Thomas and Mary Ann had one more child and her name; Dora Bell Willis. My Dora was born 1881 and married Mudie Merriam Ridings (I have their marriage license) and they lived in Blytheville until she died shortly after my aunt was born in 1912. The daughter of Dora is still living and is 92 years. Debra, I can be reached by email at: hwillis201@hotmail.com. There should be other notes to compare Thanks, Sonnie

I don't believe your Minie May is the same person as my Minnie Mary Lee. I realized, looking at the census page you gave, that I neglected to mention Minnie's siblings I know of. They are Calvin, Charlie, Daisy May and perhaps Dora and Sarah, though great grandma's notes are difficult to decipher in places and Dora and Sarah may be wives of Calvin and Charlie. Mom's got the notes at her place, so I'll have to go take a hard look at them again. Since you have a Charlie Willis, who came from Tennessee to Arkansas, I am still wondering whether we might be connected. My Minnie's husband, Larence, was born in Tennessee and the two of them had to have met and got to know each other somewhere before they married in 1900 in Mississippi County, Arkansas...but couldn't find either of them in the 1900 census in that county and I searched page by page. Maybe they met in Tennessee? Looking at the census page you gave, the siblings just don't match up. And I am a little confused...I don't see a Charlie listed there at all, only a Charlottie (listed as Female and a daughter). I looked up the same page at ancestry.com where I could magnify and get a closer look...definitely Charlottie. Perhaps this isn't the page you meant to refer me to? Am I missing something else I should have seen? Thank you, again, for your time. Let me know if those siblings sound familiar. Have a great day! Debra

This very well may be the correct one since my grandfather (Charlie Anthony-name is illegible) was 2 years old at time migrated to Dyer County by 1900, then to Pemiscot County, MO and Mississippi County, AR. If this is the right one, you are the first person I've found researching this family. Please feel free to contact me anytime. I've listed the census link below: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tn/henderson/census/1880/ Sonnie
Hi Debra, You may already have this info - but here goes I find a Lawrence Bradford in Civil District #2, Lake County, TN in the 1900 Census. On June 1, 1900 he was a boarder with the Foster family, dwelling 122, family 124. Series: T623 Roll: 1583 Page: 13 Birthdate listed as Sep 1877, born in TN, Father born in KY, mother born Unknown. Noting that Lake County, TN and Mississippi County, AR are neighbors. I have found the reason for two court houses was that Mississippi County was such a large county and roads being what they were in the early years, two court houses made it easier for people to be able to take care of their business. The northern part of MS Co have always gone to Blytheville and the southern part of the county have done their records in Osceola. Joyce McFarland

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oV.2ADE/1164 Message Board Post: Hello. :) I am wondering whether anyone here might be able to look up the marriage record of my great great grandparents for me, or might be connected to the family. Larence Martin BRADFORD, born 4 Sep 1877/8 in Chickasaw, Tennessee (which place doesn't seem to exist any longer), married 11 Jul 1900 in Blythesville, Arkansas to Minnie Mary Lee WILLIS, born 12 Mar abt. 1876. This information was written down by my great grandmother before she passed away...spellings of given names may or may not be correct. According to her, Minnie was half Choctaw and died in 1910 when my great grandmother was just two years old. So far, these folks are proving difficult to track down. I can't even find a census record of my great grandmother prior to 1930, where she was living in Little River, Mississippi County, Arkansas with her husband and daughter. I am hoping that the marriage record might give the names of Larence and Minnie's parents or at least mention where they were living at the time of their marriage so I can get a better idea where to look for them. Thanks for your time! Debra in CA

Hello, I have added photos from some Carson Lake Cemeteries to my website. The pages are still under construction, and I'm in the process of rescanning the photos to see if I can make them clearer. A lot of the tombstones in these old cemeteries were very hard to read. I could hardly walk through a couple of the cemeteries because they were so overgrown. If anyone has photos that they want to add, please let me know. Also, if anyone has information or history about these cemeteries, I would like to hear it. Go to my main page: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dubar/ Then click on Tombstone Photos, then scroll down to Mississippi County and click on Carson Lake Cemeteries.
