    3. Try this address for the Census of Mississippi Co AR. They are not indexed, however, I made a Township index sometime ago but It is filed and at the moment I can not lay my hands on it. Story too long to tell. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ar/mississippi/census/ I was not able to get it to come up tonight when I tried. I am going to try on my wife's computer and see if it does any better. This should give you the index for all of the Census for Mississippi Co. Good luck! 2. I searched the Heritage Quest census and couldn't bring up any Sacrider's in AR. Only pulled up 8 total when I did the All states search and none were Frank or Joseph/William. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Peters, Woodworth, Sylvester Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oV.2ADE/1184 Message Board Post: I received a copy of my Grandparents marriage record, Sept 12, 1929. My grandmother, Elsie Mae Lyon, was 18 years old when she married. I was surprised to see on the marriage record, she listed her mother's name as Bell Woodworth from Manila, Arkansas. My grandmother was the youngest child in the family and I know she didn't know too much about her family. My grandmother had told me her mother's name was Mattie 'Belle' Peters and on all other records, my great-grandmother's name is Mattie 'Belle' Peters, born in Michigan. I think Woodworth must mean something. My great-grandmother was raised by an aunt and uncle because her parents died in a train accident when she was young. I don't know their names. Maybe it is Woodworth. My grandmother was 12 years old (abt 1923) and living in Peach Orchard, when her mother remarried and everyone moved to Washington state. My grandmother remembered they visited an aunt before they left Arkansas. Also, interesting is my grandmother's siste! r, Nellie, her middle name is Sylvester. This must mean something, too. I'm sure the name Sylvester did not come from my great-grandfather's family. His name was William Elsworth Lyon and I have found all the surnames for the women, too, and there is no surname of Sylvester. Anyone have Peters, Woodworth or Sylvester in their family genealogy?

    2. Actually, I believe the courthouse is on the National Historic Register. Seems that I heard that somewhere. If so, they will have a lot of trouble tearing it down. The people at the museum are trying hard to get everyone to be aware of what is happening. There was to be a vote on it sometime, not sure when. Dr. Eldon Fairley was the President of the Historical Society, don't know if he is now or not. He is very active in the society but has not been well for the last few months. The museum is located in the old Patterson dry goods store. It is neat. If you go downtown now in Osceola, it is very depressing. So many of the stores are closed. Delta towns are having a hard time. My husband grew up in Osceola and it is hard for him to watch what is happening to the town. Joyce Shelton McFarland
