General Powell is buried in Elmwood Cem. in Blytheville. Entry date shown as 6 Dec 1993. That may be the date of burial. Virginia K. Powell shown as 27 Aug 1989. Go to www.cobbfuneralhome.com & message them with request for death dates.
I am not sure if anyone kept a platt before the city of Etowah took over. The cemetery is being well lookekd after now. You need to contact Martha Weathers in city hall where the cemetery records are now kept. I went to school with Martha and she is a nice person, I am sure will be glad to answer your questions. I know that Shirley Heard (mainden name) did a plat of all of the names of the cemetery and if I am not mistaken, it is on line. I know they have a copy at city hall. A friend of mine was wanting to do the same thing that you are and they told her that if she knew where he was buried, or a close vicinity, they would allow her to put up a headstone. Good luck. Jones, Mississippi County, Arkansas. According to the biography, B.F. Jones was married to Miss Nannie Asburn daughter of Jack Ashburn. Jack Ashburn was one of the pioneers of the county, who came with his father from Kentucky when he was a boy (in the year 1829). He died when Nannie was a child. His wife was Mary Ball. You can look up the Ashburn family in Goodspeeds History of Mississippi County, Arkansas or go to: rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ar/mississippi/bios/jonesbf.txt. Benjamin F. Jones had a brother, Thomas B. (T.B.) Jones who was a prominent merchant of Frenchman's Bayou, Arkansas. Benjamin F. Jones and Nannie Ashburn are my husbands great grandparents. They are buried in the Louise Chapel Cemetery. I hope this is your Nan Ashburn family.

I do not recall a cemetery in that area except for the Indian Burial Grounds and a small cemetery across the road from it which was fenced in and grown over with bushes/trees (we do not think the cemetery is named??). It would be very hard to enter and search because of the thickets. This area is right on the road leading from San Souci to Hwy 61, almost at the railroad tracks. I seriously doubt that the family your are researching would have buried their children there.....since they were a very well known family.
