Can't give an obit look up - but my mom and dad lived in MS. Co. Ark. During the 40s and 50s and it is where they were married AND where they retired. We have moved them closer to us in the last 5 years, but they had a neighbor in Osceola, MS. Co. Ark. named Billy Cantrell who lived on Erma Lane in Osceola and owned a garage - but they can't recall the name of the garage. Also he did have a brother, (at least one - they couldn't recall his name). They thought Billy Cantrell was about my father's age and my dad will be 75 this year. If I can find anything out - I'll let you know. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of KATHY97301@yahoo.com Sent: Monday, January 24, 2005 9:18 PM To: ARMISSIS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ARMISSIS] obit lookup please sidney joseph cantrell This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Can anyone tell me where the Idaho Gin and Idaho Store were located in Mississippi County during the period of Nov. 1901? I think it would be in the Golden Lake area outside of Wilson, as I know my husband's grandfather William Thomas McFarland lived at Golden Lake sometime during this period. I found a deed from R. E. Lee Wilson and S. A. Beall and Elizabeth A. Wilson to Mr. McFarland with thate description in Section 29, T 11 N, Range 10 E. Any help would be appreciated. Joyce McFarland

There was an Albert Miller in the vacinity of Garden Point Cemetery but I do not remember what his wife was named. There is still family in the area. You might call Owen Miller of Marked Tree. He is his son. There is another son living in Jonesboro AR. Think his name iss Bobby Miller. I believe Albert Miller is buried in Garden Point Cemeter. Has been several years since Mr. Miller died but feel sure his name was Albert. Joyce McFarland

"The Heritage of Blytheville, Arkansas" by Ophelia Richardson Wade cpr 1973 "Page 20-" Bettie Smiley(Bettie Smile, aged 38 when she died, buried North Sawba) drowned in the bayou near Luke's (Luke Idumea Richardson 1868-1951) house. She left her husband, John Smiley (John P. Smiley, 1862-1942, buried Elmwood Cem.Blytheville) and about five children. She, her sister (Mrs Hatcher), and the baby were out riding in a small boat, when it overturned and neither of them could swim. The baby's rubber pants kept it afloat. The woman sunk to the bottom and they had to dive and huge hooks to find their bodies. John Smiley sat on a stump ar the edge of the bayou while all this was going on, because he could not swim either. Robert Sander's mother and father raised one of the Smiley girls. Arthur Massey married the girl that the Sanders raised.
