I came by way of the "back door" so to speak and saw your message. The work Yarbro for one and Blytheville for another. Your see I am a Yarbro. My father was Shirley Martin yarbro, nickname Jiggs, and his brother was charlie Richard Yarbro. My uncles founded Yarbro Arkansas, their names were Plez and Jess. I am very familiar with Yarbro arkansas as I found my father's family there about 21 years ago. I am related to Barbara Jean Crow who has the furniture rental on main street and Charlie and Peggy Yarbro. Charlie was principal of the Gosnell school for years and then suprentendent and his wife Peggy was in the Administration Office for the school. I am also familiar with the Air Base as I have numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that live on the air base currently. It is now housing for seniors. I am also familiar with the Old North Sawba Cemetery and have un! cles and aunts buried there too. My uncles and aunts worked at the Yarbro grocery in the 1940's and 50's up until it closed. I am related to Gerald Wheeler, the Bunches, E. C. Yarbro's, I believe my uncle Bud or Charlie Yarbro "owned" the Yarbro grocery at one time also. What a small world. I have a sister that is moving to Lake Kiowa Tx in October. I'm sending her your message and she is a long time Blytheville resident. She can probably help you a lot. I will keep your information and send it on to my relatives in Blytheville. It will have to go US mail however as none have computers. Nice to meet you. Who knows - we might be "kin" also. The father was Joseph or JD, and supposedly owned a little ice cream parlor in Luxora. He had two daughters, one was called Babe, but I don't know what her real name was. From the information I have both the daughters would have been born around 1920/1930. Does this ring a bell at all? Thank you.

Grandma's maiden name was Fowler. Not sure about the rest of the names. Grandma married Allie Nolan, not sure when or where. She had my dad at the age of 42. We also had relatives in Blytheville, and believe there may still be some there and in Batesville. My dad Joy Lynn Nolan just turned 65 in Feb. She loves to remember Luxora and the people she knew there. I'll write to ask her what she remembers about Nolans, Fowlers and Linebargers. My 1943 Luxora High School annual has small photos of Verna Linebarger (9th Grade), Herbert Fowler (7th Grade) and Modene Fowler (7th Grade). Rita Mae Fowler was listed as a student not pictured - and no grade was given for her. Do you recognize any of those names, and if so, how are you related to them?
