In 1918 a chain broke allowing the logs to fall off of the wagon and the wheel of the wagon ran over g-g/f Jim's chest; he died shortly thereafter of pneumonia. Surely his accident/death made the NEWSPAPERS...? Can anyone tell me what newspapers were in Miller County in 1918? Are they on microfilm anywhere? Where would I look to find deed records,etc for this sawmill? G-g/f Jim was married to Rachel Elizabeth "Lizzie" RAMSEY before 1886 and they had 12 chn. Although they moved around bewtween Texas, Ark, and Oklahoma a lot, many of their chn made their homes in Boyd or Fouke, Miller County.
