This obit appeared in the Texarkana Gazette on 29 March 2000; Hope, Ark.- Mary Elaine Marcum Hedges, 49, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, in a Texarkana hospital. Mrs. Hedges was born March 8, 1951, in Hempstead County, Ark. She ws a certified nurse's aide and member of Eylau Hills Baptist Church where she was the pianist. Survivors include her husband, Gary Hedges of Texarkana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Marcie Young of Elwood, Ind. and Todd and Donna Young of Lockesburg, Ark., her mother, Cordelia Marcum of Hope; two brothers, James H. Marcum of Lubbock, Texas and Mike Marcum of Alexandria, La.; one sister, Evelyn Triplett of Pascagoula, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 am Thursday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm today at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Cordelia Marcum, 3074 Highway 32 North, Hope.
