Yes, he was a son. Born 1842 - the 1850 census lists him as 9 yrs old. He married 1876 to Amanda Williams. Died 1937. Buried at Hooks Cemetery, Marlow, Anderson Co., TN. He served as a private in Co. H. 2nd Reg., TN Cavalry CSA. Bletcher had 5 sons who fought for the Confederate States of America - Robert (killed in action), William King, Saber, Jonathan English and Henry. Frederic Armes ---- could he possibly be Bletcher's BROTHER????? Perhaps Bletcher's father may have been Frederick also. I have several Fredericks in the line, so perhaps they were named after their uncle and grandfather Frederick. I would be greatly interested in where you found the information on Frederick. I have been unable to find him in any census records with Bletcher and family. William King Armes was born 1853. He is in the 1870 census at age 17 with John Armes and wife Tima C. This was probably an uncle. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
