Hopefully you have found the information you wanted. However, if not; I would ask is the Armes family you are interested in native to Michigan or Tennessee. There is a large Armes family in Morgan Co. that has been here since the 1840's. Like all southern communities, we have immigrants to all over, but especially the north. Alice Long Hackworth won't share any information with the family. Somewhere, I found that Fredrick Armes(1808-1902) was father of Blecher. Could be??? Yes, he was a son. Born 1842 - the 1850 census lists him as 9 yrs old. He married 1876 to Amanda Williams. Died 1937. Buried at Hooks Cemetery, Marlow, Anderson Co., TN. He served as a private in Co. H. 2nd Reg., TN Cavalry CSA. Bletcher had 5 sons who fought for the Confederate States of America - Robert (killed in action), William King, Saber, Jonathan English and Henry. Frederic Armes ---- could he possibly be Bletcher's BROTHER????? Perhaps Bletcher's father may have been Frederick also. I have several Fredericks in the line, so perhaps they were named after their uncle and grandfather Frederick. I would be greatly interested in where you found the information on Frederick. HI - I would be Jack's cousin. My line is from King and Amanda's son Standish who married mary Elizabeth VANN who had Amanda who married W. L. Brewer my grandfather. My Aunt Alma and her family live in Harriman, TN. I live in Texas. I have Cherokee Indian ties because of the VANN family. I have not found any ARMS/ARMES who were Cherokee. Perhaps Jesse HACKWORTH or Alice LONG have Cherokee lineage. None of the Arms/Armes researchers that I know of have found the parents of Bletcher Armes born about 1805 in Wilkesboro, N. C. I have a Frederick born abt 1855 son of Bletcher and Mary (Polly) T(urpin). Patterson. Hope this helps.
