Hi Mysty, Yes, he ended up in Carroll Co. where the family was ennumerated on the 1850 & 1860 census, and one of the springs in downtown Harrison is named Stiffler Springs after him. But as far as the 1842 Marion Co. tax reference, I have checked myself & found nothing, so thought maybe it was a case of looking so hard you see nothing.
