You know yourself that, having spent 5 or 10 or 20 years deciphering handwriting on microfilm, it wouldn't be a difficult mistake for a neophyte to make <hehe> Looks to me as if Vicki and I got Levi's kids mixed up with Rufus's kids in Big Blue 1. I don't have access to the MCAR 1900 here at home, but it's on microfilm in our research room at the library. It may be a while, but I *will* check this. I have the 2-day Ozark Cultural Celebration in Harrison this weekend, the fire department BBQ next weekend (we feed 500-600 every year), and then comes 3 days of Turkey Trot. Somewhere in between all this I have to finish the October "Bramble Bush" and get it to the printer so I can get it in the mail <groan> By the way, never realized you were involved with the John Hobbs Adams bunch. We here in the boonies have just become aware of this - your data could be most useful for Big Blue 2. Hope it's OK if we use it. It'll sure save us lots of research time. Will get back to you when I've checked the 1900. Mysty shakerag@mtnhome.com "Genealogy without documentation is mythology" ----- Original Message ----- From: Wilma Norton <wilma@softcom.net> To: <ARMARION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 11, 2000 8:49 PM Subject: Ulis Taylor > I recently sent for and received the SS-5 Application for Ulis Taylor and on it he states his name is Ulis Clinton Taylor, born July 25, 1895 MCAR; his father is Lenie Taylor and his mother is Lillie Bell Adams. He was 42 when he applied for a SS number on Dec 3, 1937. My question is - would Lenie be a nickname for Levi M. Taylor, son of William Franklin Taylor and Eliza Jane (Keeling) Taylor? Levi married Lillie Belle Adams per Big Blue. > > Does anyone know how I would go about confirming this? I've been working on the family of Rufus M. Taylor and Mandy Florence (Younger) Taylor. In Big Blue they are shown with 3 children, Oscar, Ulis and Stella. I found Rufus and Mandy Taylor on the 1900 St. Joe Twp. Searcy Co. AR census. She is shown as married 8 years, 3 children, 3 living and the names of the children are Liddie W., James L. and Trixie V. Taylor. > > According to Big Blue, Levi and Lillie Belle Taylor are found on the 1900 Hampton Twp. If someone has this census, can you please check for me to see what the names of their children are? > > Any help or suggestions on how to straighten this out appreciated. > > Wilma >
