    3. The Marion Co AR courthouse burned 2 or 3 times during the Civil War and again - big time - in Aug 1887. Absolutely no county records of any sort - including marriages - survived these fires. Therefore, there is no county marriage book in which you'll find this marriage. Other than taking what the census records indicate as a probable marriage date (based upon the birth year of the first child), your only alternative is to find someone with a family bible or, possibly, a preacher that filed his records with his church.
