The Hurst/Teagarden Cemetery was basically abandoned, after Luther Hall died, for several years. The farmer who owns the land around it had let his cattle run in the cemetery and they pushed over and broke most of the stones. Several years ago I tried to get an organization started to set up perpetual care for the grounds. Mrs Jearldene (Hurst) McNeil was the person who stepped up and headed up the group who worked on the cemetery, got the fence back up, and cleaned up a lot of the brush and trees. Unfortunately she moved away a couple of years ago and I don't think there was a group organized to do work this year. Her sister Cora (Hurst) Tetrick I believe is the person in control of the funds raised for the cemetery. Although you have to go through several gates to get to the cemetery, you can still have access, and the road is good enough for a car. I probably can help you with information on the Hall's buried there. Don Ott At 05:31 AM 21-09-02 -0500, you wrote: >Good Morning. I don't have any information on this cemetery.
