    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mV.2ADE/134 Message Board Post: I am researching my ANGELL ancestry and find that my greatgrandfather Lawrence Washington ANGEL(L) was born in Arkansas in 1836. While I do not know where in the state he was born, I have found other Angels in Hampton, Marion County, AR in 1860 whose Christian names are also found in my ggreatgrandfather's family. I am guessing at this point that John ANGEL may have been a cousin to my Lawrence W. ANGEL(L). If you have knowledge of the John (b. ~1840) and Parasidia (b.~1845) ANGEL family from Hampton, please contact me. Their children in 1870 were listed as: Julia Ann Angel b. ~1860 AR Samantha J. b ~1873 AR Leander W. b. ~1875 AR Thomas G. b ~1878 AR Melissa E. B 1880 AR I anm especially for the father of John or for a more specific birthplace for him than just thte state of Tennessee. I will be happy to share all information that I have which could assist you. Bev ANGELL Oliver Sioux Falls, SD [email protected]

    3. Go to the Marion Co web page. Scroll down. Click on Family Genealogies. Scroll down. Click on Angel. This should be helpful to you. Information I have indicates that John Angel b NC ca 1786 d 1862 m 1811 Martha "Patsy" Harris are the parents of James Angel b TN 1814 that married TN 1832 Elizabeth Ward b TN ca 1814. It's possible that John Angel was b in Rutherford Co. NC, but we've not verified this. Further information on the Angel family in Marion Co AR can be found in "Genealogies of Marion County Families 1811-1900" by the Historic Genealogical Society of Marion Co AR, PO Box 761, Yellville AR 72687. This book covers over 400 families, is cross-referenced to spouse families wherever possible (probably 90-95 per cent), is every-name indexed, has sources for data on each family indicated at the end of each family. Order from the Society. It's $60 + $5 shipping.
