Pamela, Birth records were not required in Arkansas until about 1914. You may find census records for 1880 that would list these folk in Arkansas and might indicate they were born in AR. If the parents were in the 1870 Arkansas Census, lived in the same place in 1880 and had a child, that may not be documentary evidence, but pretty good circumstantial evidence. I will forward this message to the Marion county list and hope some one else will be able to help also. It sure might make a difference if we had a name to work with as well as known data about them.
