Hi List: I have finally found a copy of the Dorman/Smith 1995 book on the Claiborne family. In checking quickly, I located one set of my Claiborne great grandparents. I never had Mary Ann Green's parents names. She married John Clayton (1813-1891) and were parents of George Archibald Claiborne. Pg. 91 - John, perhaps died in Fulton Co., AR (still looking for their grave sites). He married 21 Feb 1843 in Lauderdale Co., TN. Mary Ann was the daughter of of Archibald and Judith (Taylor) Green. John Clayton was clerk and master of the chancery Court of Gibson Co., TN in the 1840's and moved to Batesville, AR when appointed Commissioner of Deeds for the State of AR by the Governor of TN (?), was county surveyor of Izard Co., AR 1866-68, and later lived in Fulton Co., AR. Question: Would TN have appointed a position for AR? That me confused. Mysty - do you know? Judy
