    1. [ARMar] Re: Daniel "The Fiddler" COKER, Marion Co. AR
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mV.2ADE/125.1.1.2 Message Board Post: According to the Original Arkansas Civil War Page by Ed Gerdes (online) Daniel G Coker enlisted 16 July 1861 at Yellville AR in the 14th Arkansas Confederate Infantry Company C. He was captured at the Battle of Pea Ridge (AR) 8 July 1862. Sent to the Federal prison at Alton IL. He was exchanged at Fort Pillow TN 17 May 1862. He was capture again at Fort Hudson LA 9 July 1863 and paroled 13 July 1863. I find no record that he died in the service although the apparent date of his death is 1863. I find no mention of a date or cemetery for his wife Sarah M Stallings. If, in fact, Daniel died in 1863 and given her young age, it's very probable that she remarried. Lead Hill AR became a part of Boone Co AR when that county was created in 1869. You might find some information at http://www.rootsweb.com/~arboone which is the Boone Co AR web page.
