    3. Hi Mysty! The Strawberry begins near Wheeling in south Fulton County and flows southeastward across the northeast corner of Izard County, entirely across the middle of Sharp County, across the southwest corner of Lawrence County and just nips into extreme northeast Independence County before flowing into the Black River at a point about equidistant from Alicia, Cord, Saffell and Swifton. My mother used to splash in the small brook that became the Strawberry when she was a child a mile or two west of Wheeling. (All county names are the present day names; for historical county names, place your bets and pick your years.) Just to further muddy the water so to speak, there is a town called Strawberry located in southwest Lawrence County about a mile south of the Strawberry River. -- Robert W. AR. Well, sort of - at one time - sort of. Way back before Marion Co became a county (1836), it was at one time part of Lawrence Co. Strawberry River was in Lawrence Co. in 1850 and may still be there. Hope this helps. Mysty shakerag@mtnhome.com
