    3. To the best of my knowledge, Ann, there are no books covering specifically either the Bearden or the Hogan families. I know the genealogical society doesn't have any and has not heard that any exist. Sure wish there were <sigh> There are many MCAR books available that contain data on these families, though, and they're very helpful in research efforts. I'm afraid no one on this list can be of much help, Ann, without more information. In order to identify your grandparents and great-grandparents, it's almost imperative that a researcher have as much of the following as you can provide. 1. Full names - first, middle, last, maiden. 2. Dates - When born/married/died - specific ones if possible - at least a time frame. 3. Places - where born/married/died - any sort of geographical clue. 4. Siblings + above data on them. If you will share as much of this sort of information as you can, I'm sure Marion Co researchers will help if at all possible. For your information: Birth and death records are maintained on the state level in Arkansas. However, these weren't required until Feb 1914. If you have the exact date and place of either a birth or a death, you can request the records from Division of Vital Records Arkansas Department of Health 4815 Markham Street Little Rock AR 72201 Marriage records are maintained at the county level in Arkansas. They are held at the county courthouse for the specific county. It may be helpful for you to know that I find no marriage record in Marion Co between 1887 and 1917 for a Bearden to a Hogan. It might also be helpful to know that there have been Beardens, Hogans, and Barnetts in at least Searcy Co and Baxter Co. too.
